  If you refer to your computer's internet connection, yea, it will, but it depends on its max speed (aka bandwidth).

  Or, if you mean computer performance, buffering videos will take up some resources, but if your computer is bought within the last 2 years, the difference in performance shouldn't be humanly noticeable at all.

  Assuming your computer is at least a Pentium III 1Ghz, it shouldn't take more than 30% CPU and 32MB of your RAM to render the MPEG4/Flash video file that youtube is based on.
  
  Other factors that may influence CPU and RAM usage are:
  1. Browser (Newer tend to take less resource when loading)
  2. Flash version (Newer is better)
  3. Whether you are running other resource intensive applications

  Anything less than 1GHz for CPU speed will slow it down tremedously... even with loads of RAM. Video processing is still very much dependent on processor speed rather than the amount of RAM you have.

  On my P3 600MHz... with 512MB of RAM... just need to load a few Youtube videos to kill it... simple as that.

  Another thing to note... if you visit Ajax webbies with that kind of processor, be prepared that it will slow to a crawl. On the client side, it's more interactive, but this also means more processing power on the client side.

  unless ur internet bandwidth is too small

   

  i using 2.0ghz, 1gb ram

   

  will feel lag when publishing video/converting video format/photoshop+dreamweaver+itune+sgforums+msn+

  i somehow feel that when loading facebook

  all my other browsers will lag very badly

  only resume to normal when i close facebook's window

   that's why nowadays i seldom login facebook
