I've just reformatted my laptop and have problem trying to install the wireless mio.
Tried a few times, but still the same results.
Anybody here who's firmilar with it?
install? i think u just need to search for ur mio modem, default name is 2wire123 or 2wire885...u get the idea
but if u search there is many 2wire, u may have clicked on the wrong one? one way is to go to http://gateway.2wire.com , and see ur network name, u can change it as well
and also see if ur wireless is enabled
my network stuffs are okay, just that for some reasons, probably a minor factor causing the laptop unable to communicate with the modem.
anyidea where can i read up the steps/instructions on installation of Mio BroadBand Modem?
the CD which they have given didn't give sufficient information with regards to installation procedure.
Start > Run and type in cmd
Type in ipconfig /all and press Enter.
Enter the Default Gateway IP address to set it up.
are you able to browse for the wireless network ? do you know what is the SSID of your mio modem ? did you know the password or key set in the wireless encryption ?
you need to know the above information in order to connect to your wireless mio modem ... it should be recorded somewhere when the first time when singtel technician come over to your place to install the mio modem ...
else the easier way out is to use a LAN cable to connect to the mio modem ...
good luck ...
edit: wrong thread.
Arbo set static ip addr at your network connections...
got call singtel for help? but...if you follow straits times forum closely...
Too expensive to set up.

when i reinstall the modem, it was then given to me again and i copied it down.
but somehow, the smartfix didn't fix my problem.

straits time forum?
there got solutions to my problem?
First, go to ur default gateway either by mayi's method of go cmd then type ipconfig/all, or http://gateway.2wire.net at ur address bar
Click on the left "connection status", then after it brings u to the page, on the top click home network
then make sure u have ur wireless enabled first....
