  i tried to play something from a website and some 'External Protocol Request' pops up...

  ' An external application must be launched to handle mms:links.

  requested link: mms://blah blah blah.wma
  application: windows media player'

  err....how do i get this to work...?? =\

  If so, it's a security feature. After some idiot decides to launch some virus this way, because these protocols are not checked rigorously.

  Also kindly update all your programs, especially if you have Quicktime and/or Realplayer installed. There are exploits around and they are nasty.

  Try this. Open up Windows Media Player, go to File > Open URL... (or Ctrl+U) and copy and paste in the full MMS URL into it and see if it works.

  i updated my windows media player and IT WORKS NOW!!! =D =D
