Ipod shuffle cannot work

  How come my ipod shuffle cannot work?
  
  My com will say something like one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognise it.
  I am on win xp

  try liao. I also try it on another newer computer with also win xp sp2 and also cannot. Do i need to install any driver?

  first time using. I downloaded latest version of itunes. nothing detected.

  First time using then must download the drivers of the Shuffle.

  Np. Actually many others had complained about not being able to detect the drivers.
  
  you might want to uninstall itunes and repeat the steps once more.

  MS and Apple leh...
  
  Don't expect MS to bundle Apple drivers...
  
  Plug and play is strictly for MS-Only hardware
  
  Likewise, don't expect Zune to work on Apple. I haven't test it out yet, but I think only 50-50 of getting it to work
  
  But then again, why would an Apple fan buy Zune?

  my SE phone also always have this problem.
  
  could be the cable is loose.
  
  if u have the patience, try restarting your phone, software and also inserting ur usb cable a few times.
