  I bought a Acer laptop last year, now I wanna reformat my whole system but I can't find the option to restore factory settings.

  put in the system cd can liao.
  
  u also need ur recovery CDs as well.
  
  back up ur files such as prawns, sch works, project, dawn yeoh's pictures, etc in ext hard drive.
  
  after u done so, put in sys cd, shut down ur pc.
  on pc, press F2, search Boot, change C drive to start up wif cd.
  then press exit n save.
  
  the pc will run until it tells u to change ur cd to recovery cd.

  Some Laptops have recovery software built into it.
  No need cd(s) wan.

  Boot up the laptop.
  
  On seeing the Acer logo, press this button - Pause/Break
  
  See the options there
  
  There should be one to recover your system back to factory settings
  
  If it's not present, you will need your CDs
  
  If you don't know how, kindly refer to the manual

  mayi. for my case, my language bar wif chinese words is gone. they stated is in one of my cd but i cant find it.
  
  is there any way to download from internet n free of charge?
