Slow internet connection speed?

Since the begining of the year, my internet connection had been slow......many times it even died, and I had to reboot to re-connect......
This happened since the service provider introduced "upgrading"
I have found the answer to the problem.

It's the ROUTER !!!

My connection improved 1000% when I reset the router.......pressed that little button at the back of the router to reset to factory defaults.....thats all to it!!'

It probably means you or somebody else has been playing with the router settings, since a simple reset solved it.
Remember to protect your network, or you will find yourself resetting it very often. -

I suspect Starhub's upgrading could have "cheong' with my router settings......possible?
so next time they announce an 'upgrading', I 've better re-set my router....
unlikely to be outside interference.....hackers and smoochers are not so free to waste time on this, I think? -

Don't think upgrading should cause problems. Singnet upgraded a lot of times for my area and I've never faced any problems.
Same for Starhub. -
I have been with starhub maxonline for almost 8yrs and I've never experience a lag so bad as the one I've been going through in recent weeks.
I've checked all my settings, modem connected directly to my computer, scanned my HD for spyware/virus and I'm quite sad to say that I'm not quite getting the service I'm paying for...
Other subscribers are also going through the same slow bandwidth problem as me, esp during the evening hours, everyday....
Anyone has a clue wth is wrong with Starhub? If I knew this is the price to pay for a free upgrade to 8mbs....I RATHER NOT TAKE IT AT ALL!

Hubbers = shared bandwidth
It will slowdown when there's a lot of users. -
hubbers are slow.
Just for safety reasons, reset your router.
By locating the small reset button.
Set up your security, preferly by mac filtering and WPA...
Test your bw by direct connection to the modem,
Test @ speedtest.net ...
if u using starhub, lag is always have one... i am using starhub too.. landed property.. alot using lag like hell.. i cant imagine what happen to hdb.. even more cable still lag.. -

Don't talk about starhub in HDB, those on first floor very lucky sia , speed fast but those on 8 or 15 floor ah wah piang u die liao . the downloading of 1 movie , lets say enchanted , took my neighbour 5 hours , speed only 30kb/s
in hdb ah , singnet would be better

I thought those living in landed properties will have bad connections, especially Hubbers. Don't ask why. Landed properties Hubbers seem to complain more than HDB Hubbers.
