  if the OS is deleted, is it still usable? can it be retrieve?

  delete alr = no os in your computer.
  
  retrieve ah computer manufacturers OEM, can either use recovery disks or certain tools lor.

  OS wise, just install anything you fancy, windows, linux, unix, minix or OS/2. Data wise, it's possible to retrieve, depending on if the hard drive has been "zeroed" during the wipe. The more times it's been zero'ed, the harder it is to retrieve the data.
