Desktop icons

  Hi, I am having a minor problem with my desktop icons as mentioned.
  
  It seems that they are bold meaning that the display properties are in color mode. I can select the colors I want the desktop icons text to be bolded eg. blue,red.
  
  Is there a method to restore the desktop icons text bolding to its previous state where there is none.

  1. Right click My Computer and select Properties
  
  2. Select Advanced tab
  
  3. Under Performance, click on the Settings button
  
  4. Select Visual Effects tab
  
  5. Tick the Use drop shadows for icons labels on the desktop box
  
  Then click OK to apply the settings

  what he probably mean is he dont want the shading for the icon words

  Ok nvm. I just realized Anty has posted the same thing earlier than me.

  I think Darkie knows. I remember there's one more thing which he did. Can't recall now.

  Edit - Right click on your desktop and select Properties
  
  Select the Desktop tab
  
  Click on Customize Desktop
  
  Select the Web tab
  
  Untick this box - Lock web items

  OK, it did the above steps.
  
  But I realised my mistake.
  
  I actually copied a picture from a powerpoint slide and place it in my desktop.
  
  There was an option of putting it in an active directory.
  
  So I clicked yes.
  
  Under the Display Properties,
  I clicked on the web tab and under the web pages was a check box ticked.
  file:///C:/DOCUME~1/*****/LOCALS~1/TEMP/msohtml1/01/clip_image002.jpg
  
  So I untick it. Then the shading is gone.
  
  My mistake also: It is not bold, it is the shading.
