Doubt that. This one is the latest and it is very very small with an 8' inch screen. Got it for AUD510 inclusive of extended 3 year warranty in Australia.Originally posted by Kuali Baba:My cousin's had an Asus for more than a year now and he's been very happy with it. The trouble is that I doubt it's the same model as yours.
yeah I know I risk destroying the bios chip.Originally posted by Really mama?:Oh, those kind of mods. Getting a ram upgrade is a good idea. Flashing the bios isn't.
LOL, I don't know if you are crazy or something.Originally posted by fymk:yeah I know I risk destroying the bios chip.
Maybe after the warranty expires , I will try it . It's kinda cool though - I got a 160gig external drive which stores my other windows software. Kind of exciting.
I got it from ebay actually. The guy didn't want his white asus because he got a black eee pc as a gift from his daughter. I was abit suspicious at first but it turned out ok . It is the 7A series which stocks an extra mini pci-e socket that 7B and 7c does not have. He didn't realise the value of it .Originally posted by Really mama?:fymk..did you get it from DSE?
What can I say - I love my new eee pc . And btw , I am actually using it online to type a response ( with keyboard attached ), of course.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:LOL, I don't know if you are crazy or something.
DSE was selling Asus EEE with diff specs for around $500. Compared to yours, yours is better with the 160gb hdd. I was really sceptical and I thought it was some old stock from 2-3 years ago that did not managed to sell.Originally posted by fymk:I got it from ebay actually. It was from Myers - the price of a new 7B/7C (they don't stock 7a anymore) is 499 minus the extra mini pci-e slot and additional 41.95 for extended warranty. So I guess I got a bargain for the very first time on ebay.
Urm my 160 gb harddisk is external drive - excluding the base cost of 510 bucks of my asus. The value of my 4Gb asus eee pc is that it has a second mini PCI e slot. So if the SSD fails , I can slot in another SSD into the second and run it as the primary unlike the 7b/7c ones which cost the same.Originally posted by Really mama?:DSE was selling Asus EEE with diff specs for around $500. Well, good on you. You may pick up more bargains if you searched under 'unwanted gifts, xmas, ex-gf/bf'
Yes but the 7a series is better than the 7b or 7c series because of that extra mini PCIe slot. And costs the same ! LOL. It is better than an Iphone or an apple ipod in the sense that it costs the same yet it can do more than those two can.Originally posted by Really mama?:god! thats the same model! I thought it was for pre-school or kindy kids since we are now in the IT stage and all that..
um, nvm..as long as you're happy.
I don't think I will be dropping it ...no more 7a series! MY little bao bei now. I expect it to work even after 5 years like my 8 year old IBM notebook.Originally posted by Really mama?:hanor hanor, also when your dropped it or when it gets spoiled your wallet won't get heartpain. And it only weighs 920grams!
Of course , you cannot chuck in heavy processing software and expect it to run like an ordinary pc.Originally posted by Really mama?:do you expect to do much work on that 7" display and Celeron processor!! A celeron processor!! That is like..so 1997!
