what do you mean by open source ?Originally posted by LatecomerX:Tried the open-source VLC Media Player already?
For most people, open source means free of charge without technical support. For the developers, it means the code behind the program is released and anyone can do whatever they want with it as long it complies with the license it is bound with.Originally posted by Unidentified:what do you mean by open source ?
well , i played that 2.39gb mkv vid using VLC player , works but only with the video prob
got it fixOriginally posted by Unidentified:ok , downloaded and tried
now is the whole video working too slow (sorry i dont know how to explain in tech terms)
the video and audio are slow , the play pause play pause kind , shd i say the video frame is too slow , anyway to fix it ?
I always thought VLC very good. Any recommendation for a portable (as in software) one?Originally posted by allentyb_v2.01:uninstall all the codec that you have, and use either CCCP or k lite
and try not to install too many player also, because it can also have conflict also
try opening the file with MPC player, vlc is known to have problem, it is a over rated player, even gom player is better than vlc
if the video is corrupted, then you can't even open the file at all, next time, just use g spot to test the video
thank him after i got my prob solve 1stOriginally posted by LatecomerX:I always thought VLC very good. Any recommendation for a portable (as in software) one?

erm you mean the sound doesnt match the video ?Originally posted by allentyb_v2.01:the file that you have downloaded, might been corrupted, usually the problem i encounter with mkv file is, the timing isn't set properly...
no, not the sound, the timing, which is the subtitles, check whether you have core avc or not, maybe it will improve ah, if cannot, then i also don't know what is wrong with your video alreadyOriginally posted by Unidentified:erm you mean the sound doesnt match the video ?
my problem was vid and sound match , but the playing is like play pause play pause like that , or do i call it lag
it is worst before but i increase frame so now is better , but still a little choppy (not sure if choppy is the right word to describe)
i now trying to see if the video can work smoothly
no need de, just download k lite mega codec pack will do, inside the codec pack, will have core avcOriginally posted by Unidentified:oh man , cant find that core avc thing
can someone post the direct link ?
or tell me the actual webby
question : is it safe ? when i click the download link my mcafee tell me inside may contain potentially unwanted programme and adwareOriginally posted by allentyb_v2.01:no need de, just download k lite mega codec pack will do, inside the codec pack, will have core avc

Uninstall CCCP, it will clash with K lite, and if anything still goes wrong, then codec might be corruptedOriginally posted by Unidentified:nvm i downloaded it anyway

YEAH !!! congratz to me !!!!
and thx to you all guy helping me out !!!!
1 last question : k lite itself also contain a media player classic , so do i delete my CCCP ?
