LCD TV to be a PC Monitor

  Hi All,
  I have a 32” Sharp Aquos LCD TV(LC-32AX3M) http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/home_av/tvs/0,39037586,39097504p,00.htm
  that is believed to be unable to connect it to a PC. May I know, how to see whether a TV can, or cannot be used as a PC Monitor? What terminals must the TV be having?
  
  If it a “non Monitor” TV, is there any 3rd party adaptor/ accessories that I can fix to it, so as to “convert” it to a Monitor?
  
  Please advice.

  If the LCD TV behind have a DVI or VGA connector, then u can connect it to the PC.
  
  If not, I remember is third party hardware for converting TV video signal to PC video signal (TV to PC converter). Well, that was a few years back when I last saw one.
  
  You can try your luck at sim lim square or some hardware store for it.

  However, I don't see the worth in buying a converter when you can easily get a monitor for maybe like about 300 dollars.

  I think certain graphic cards has a TV-out function. Check if your graphics card has it.

  Thks for your valuable suggestions! Actually i am trying to connect my laptop to the TV, to watch some RMVB format (Realplayer Media) or AVi files, thats all. thought it would be nicer to watch on a bigger screen than havin to strain my eyes with the laptop.

  Some laptops have s-video ports: red white yellow.
  thus if ur laptop has it you could use it to connect to any television

  the S-video out plug is usually yellow in color. Link it to the TV's respective port and go into AV mode. Then u probably enable your graphics card to display in the TV as well.

  Hi all,
  I had found a S-video like terminal at the back of my laptop;likewise also a S-video like terminal at the back of my LCD TV. am i right to assume that if i just get a S video cable, with both end having the S video head, and one of the side having the red,yellow, white plug, then plug them to the LCD TV, and it can work?

  you need to buy those heads.
  yea then connect the red white and yellow to the tv.
