How to tell if a site is secure (Mac browser Safari)
idiotbutcherer
When one shops online using Windows, the safe site will display this padlock at the bottom of the browser, indicating that this is a secure site. However, it seems that for Mac browser Safari, this padlock is not displayed. Therefore, how would one tell if a site is secure in Safari?

See the padlock on the top right.

A "https://" in the address bar would be sufficient, I suppose.

HTTPS + padlock is considered a MUST nowadays. Previously, there were spoofed websites that used HTTPS without the padlock.
If a webbie prompts about the certificate error... the best is not enter. Unless you know the site itself.
