Can't save data in thumbdrive...(File Permission Error)

  Recently I can't save my documents in my thumbdrive.
  The window "Can't save file due to file permission error" keeps popping up.
  
  My thumbdrive is not locked. Aftre encoutering several times when I can't save my work, I gave up. I just formatted my thumbdrive.
  
  Is it a sign that my thumbdrive is going to crash soon? or is it some setting in the Words doc?

  Make sure it is not set to Read-only mode. Try right-clicking the file, go to Properties and look for the relevant checkboxes under the Attributes section at the bottom and uncheck them if they are checked. If it still doesn't work for you, check whether there are other applications which are reading off or writing to the same file.
