Hi Help Needed

  Hi forumites, Stanely here needs help from experts again.
  I just got some very important seminars DVD and I wish to back them up in my hard disk and able to watch it on windows media player. I need to back them up just in case they spoilt.
  
  i) Which software should I use to back these DVDs up?
  
  *** I'm currently using NERO 7 but it seems like it cannot do it...maybe it can but I don't know how.
  
  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot.

  After I used DVD shrink to rip out the DVD, it becomes like this many many files which adds up to only 1 DVD movie but still UNABLE to play on windows media player ---->
  
  
  
  How can I make it into only 1 thumbnail ( Like the car video below ) instead of so many files and able to play on windows media player?

  Got a few methods to backup DVDs.
  
  1. Burn an image (iso) of the DVD:
  
  To do this, make an image of the DVD using example nero burning rom http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Nero_Burning_ROM.htm
  
  Then use daemon tools to mount the DVD and play it like a DVD
  http://www.disc-tools.com/download/daemon+sptd+md5sum
  
  2. Reencode. This one is more tedious. You can either wait for other forumers to help you if you choose this choice or go forum.doom9.org to see what you need. Dont recommend you to try this unless you want to have a headache

  btw, dvd shrink only shrink them into 1 dvd size... not produce a copy of your dvd.

  I'm not sure if direct copy and paste works. Sometimes, laziness will still solve problems.

  some DVDs come with more than 1 vob files. Then you need to link them together using vobmerge which can be searched easily on the net.
  
  Oh ya, vobmerge will work for stanley too

  ya, If they put copyright, and dun let u copy using a program, please use DVD43, a decrytor

  Hi everybody here, thank you very much for your help. Finally managed to merge all the little files into 1 big file. Looks neater and much better.
  
  However, I still can't play it on Windows Media Player even after I selected 'open with' 'windows media player'. Ok below are the images. PLEASE HELP ME !!!

  Windows Media Player cannot play. But VLC Player and MplayerC can.

  this should allow you to play your vob on windows media player.
  
  as for your second query, its actually encoding. i dont know how good about that piece of software but i wont be using it.
