Doesn't help.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:That's the stage before you get to see Windows logo. Try booting into Last Known Good Configuration.
When restarting, just keep pressing the F8 button.
What do you mean by specific?Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:The BSOD, I need it to be specific. It's not easy to figure out Windows BSODs.

Wonder what crashed it.
Laptop is under warranty... My only concern is whether I can don't leave my laptop there because I need it badly for my FYP...Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:If still under warranty, bring back to IBM. Or Lenovo. Whichever applies.
Can you do without the DVD drive? If yes, just leave it alone first. Remove the DVD drive and continue your FYP.Originally posted by eagle:Laptop is under warranty... My only concern is whether I can don't leave my laptop there because I need it badly for my FYP...
Now I'm 90% sure it is the dvd drive causing the problem, because when I took it out, I have no problem starting. When I put it in, the problem manifested again, and when I took it out again, no problems.
In addition, after windows have started, I inserted the dvd drive again, and it had a problem. The thing is, is it the link to the motherboard that has a problem, or is it the dvd drive that has the problem....
I could do without the DVD drive, and removing it is what I have done at the moment. But it would be good to have it repaired before school reopens in case I need it...Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Can you do without the DVD drive? If yes, just leave it alone first. Another way would be to move all important FYP data out to an external hard disk and work on another computer.
Or get a USB DVD drive if you've got the money. Up to you anyway, since you already have an external hard disk.Originally posted by eagle:I could do without the DVD drive, and removing it is what I have done at the moment. Possible to, if there are problems with it (like short battery life despite fully charged).Originally posted by eagle:no la... i just found out IBM got 4-hours on site service
Do you think I could request for a change in battery as well?
How about 6 cell battery lasting < 1 hr when fully charged?Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Possible to, if there are problems with it (like short battery life despite fully charged).
