Singnet VS Starhub VS M1

I'm currently on singnet wireless broadband service n it sux. Keep getting the limited or no connectivity signal. Very pissed. Called up the support line already 4 times this month. Thinking of terminating their service liao.. Need some good advice on why this problem is occuring and which is a better service provider to choose.. Last time I never have this prob till sometime ard end of Nov 07..

It's your wireless card problem, router problem, Windows problem, combination of any 2 problems or all of the 3 problems.
Wireless hardware or software issues are not caused by Singnet. Besides, it's a home network. They have no controls over home networks, how could they disconnect you? -

Then how do I check which prob is it?? coz it's not onli on my system at home, my bro's laptop n desktop also experiences this problem.. Means is e modem tt they had provided me which has got something wrong? Honestly, if you compare the three, Singnet is still relatively the best, whether you are talking about cable, mobile network, or broadband. But that does not imply that it's perfect, because it will never be.
Yes, the problems can be due to anything - not necessary due to the service provider. -

Go download something like Netstumbler. Leave it running. When you think you are having some problems with the connection, check the Signal-to-Noise Ratio.
A relatively good SNR would be above 20.
If your SNR drops whenever you disconnect and the noise goes up, there's probably some interference.
Look at the other wireless signals and see what channel they are on. You should set your channel to either 1, 6 or 11. See which channel has the fewest signals and try to pick that one. If your channel selection is set to auto, I suggest you try setting your regulatory domain to Canada. This will stop your radio from broadcasting on channels 12-14. Sometimes, your wireless card is not configured to support channels 12-14 and the wireless AP may switch to those channels to avoid interference.
If you determine there is interference coming from somewhere in your home, you can try to locate it. Try to see if you get disconnected when something is turned on if something else may be happening in your home. -

Yes but as mayi said before, you can't compare M1 to Singnet/Starhub. Also if you are having problems with wireless in your home, it's not really a problem with Singnet/Starhub service level.
Of course, you can be dissatisfied with the way they are providing technical assistance, but that's a different problem.
Starhub is only responsible for the connection up to your cable modem. For Singnet, it's slightly worse. They say they are only responsible up to the distribution point outside your home.
My personal view is that covering up to the modem is reasonable. It's very difficult for a service provider to support wireless inside the home. There are too many variables to deal with and wireless operates on the unlicensed band.
The most reliable thing to do would be to run a cable from your router to your laptop. -
Let's do a test. Disable all encryption and surf regularly. Don't log in to any websites (like email or forums). Do the disconnections still happen frequently?
If it still does... encryption probably won't affect... -
It's unlikely that it's a WEP problem. If it's a problem with encryption, you probably won't be able to get connected at all. The most probable hypothesis is interference.
Since your connection is intermittent, it means there is either interference or there is a hardware issue. The fact that you are able to connect means that at least some of the time, everything is working. There must be something that is affecting the connection. -
is either u don get wireless and use cable or
u change your wireless to a better one. i mean the product, change to something like motorola. -
Maybe not interference. Sometimes wireless authentication can be problematic. I don't know if it's at the authenticating stage that's causing the problems.

But M1 Damn Exp leh. Take StarHub the MaxMobile. Should be cheaper ba?
