help!!!! (wireless router)

  Hi... im havin trouble settin up my wireless router which i bought recently.
  i do not know why i cant connect to internet... and i unable to connect to the ap(acess point) usin my laptop ( wifi alr on ) .... though i can c my wireless router's name ( SSID )...
  
  HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  Can you connect to your own router's AP first?
  
  Connect to your AP.
  
  After that, log in to your router to configure everything.
  
  Usually the log in address is http://192.168.1.1
  
  If you can't get in to that address, open Command Prompt (Start > Run and type in cmd, then press Enter)
  
  In Command Prompt, type in ipconfig /all and press Enter.
  
  You will see a Gateway Address. That's the webbie of your router.
  
  When prompted, enter the username and password to log in.
  
  If you still have no idea, please post the router brand + model number up.
