  i have an ipod classic.
  
  i want to buy a 4.1 or 5.1 system for my ipod in my room (When studying listen)
  
  my 3 questions are:
  
  1.) if i plug in with 3.5mm jack, will only 2 speakers have sound?
  
  2.) is there anywhere that sells 4.1 / 5.1 system 2nd hand for less than 50 bucks?
  
  if not, 2.1 good enough?

  first thing first your IPORK can support 4.1 or 5.1 or not.. if not end up still listening to 2.1

  altec lansing system have upmix function, but is only to copy the stereo frm the front, make it play thru the back and center speaker. the woofer only using for low frequency effect
