Why my computer is making so much noise

i have no idea why my computer is making so much noise......it make alot of noise when it start up....not sure whether is it the fan or what....and even when i only surf the net and didnt on any application, the computer will start making alot of noise....and then stop......and when i am playing games, it is even worse, it will make alot of noise thru out my entire duration of playing games..why is that so???.... is it normal??? or my computer is overclocked for soem reason or what???

Describe the noise...
A continuous beep? A loud whriling sound of the fan? Or a low grumbling sound?
And desktop or laptop? -
sometime my pc got beeping sound ...... why ar ????

Either your fan is working very hard or your hard disk is working very hard or both are working very hard.
For fan, clean it. For hard disk, tell us how much hard disk you have (total) and how much hard disk space is left.
Please also monitor the temperature of your computer.
Speedfan is a free utility to monitor it.

my hard disk is a sata hard disk and the space that i have already used up is 48GB my hard disk has about 160GB ...the sound looks to me that it is coming from the fan ....but i didnt run alot of application just the internet and a loud fan sound i think come out from my pc then after a short while the sound is gone...then a while later the sound came back again and go again......
when i play games its even worse..the loud fan sound i guess is keeping going on and on until i finish my game....MY comnputer is about a year old....
the loud fan sound is produced even when i start up my pc....Why is my fan working so hard????/ any solution to it??? -

Dust on the CPU heatsink will prevent the dissipation of heat, so that's why the fan on heatsink have to spin faster to cool the chip.Try taking out the heatsink and cleaning it -
Maybe because there is too much dust in your computer? The dust traps in the heat and the fan needs to work extra hard to keep out the heat.

my desktop also has the same problem too.
i think it's the fan cos my desktop is really dusty now after more than a year of service.
btw, can speedfan be downloaded and used to monitor laptops too? -
It's probably working too hard. No space, clean your PC.
