Graphics card and internet connection

I'm using onboard graphic card which has a memory of 64 MB. And the download speed is like turtle slow! Can't take it anymore... I'm using maxonline leh.. what happened? Please advise. Thanks
Does graphics card affect download speed?
And also the whole computer experience is like jerky leh.. the RAM is almost 1GB leh and P4.. what happened? -

Anyone can tell me why the download speed becomes so slow? Must be the hardware problem bah..

... maybe you power supply unit is not producing enough power? Try disconnecting your CD ROM Drive (power cable) and reconnecting it only when you need it... or change your power supply unit....
... some places have the instruments to check DC power output of power unit...
... maybe you should temporary use the old hard disk in you old computer in the P4 and see if the download speed is better?
... could be like LATEcomerX said... Windows could be automatically downloading stuff into your PC (windows update) and you could see if stopping Windows Update temporarily increases your surfing speed... -
Point 3 - MS does use an X % of your bandwidth for its own purposes.

How can I increase the onboard VGA share memory size? Currently it is 64MB. I go to bios but it seems that 64MB is the max. Anyone knows how I can up this to 128MB or 256MB?

since it's a desktop. Just find out the motherboard model and get a compatible graphics card. It shouldnt cost more than $150 for a 128mb graphics card. -

If you see jerky movement in games or applications, it can be due to your graphic card. But the card in no possible way affects your download speed. Do you mind listing out what broadband connection you are on, and what do you define as a slow download speed? (If you're on dialup, I've got nothing else to say. ) -

XP bare minimum requirements for graphics card is 32MB.
You've just got 64MB, don't expect graphics to be good. It works fine as long as it's not 3D intensive. Don't believe, run a 3D benchmark test. It will fail horribly. I've gotten a lowly 6 points and I think it nearly hit negative.
Talking about jerky graphics, did you install your graphics drivers? Windows default drivers don't necessary work. Grab your motherboard CD, put it in and install the graphics drivers. It should be better now.
As for your Net speed... LatecomerX will deal with you. -

hmm... I think I may have solved the problem. I suspect my second hard disk to be faulty so it may have caused the poor performance of the whole system, including downloading.. Once the second hard disk is out, it appeard to be ok now.

A faulty hard disk shouldn't affect the download speed, but system performance may be affected. Are you saving a lot of things to that hard disk? -
