XFX 8800GT compatible?

  i just DIY a new com but my graphic card doesnt seem compatible with my motherboard even through it got PCI-e slot for the card. just showing blank on my monitor.
  
  motherboard: Asus P5VD2 - X
  graphic cards: XFX 8800GT aph dog edt.
  processor: C2D 2.33
  RAM: 1G.B
  PSU: 550W
  
  i swaped and tested with my fren motherboard and it's work with his Asus P5LD2 - X.
  
  was wondering y his motherboard spec lower then mine but it can works. isst this batch of Asus P5VD2 - X something goes wrong in the manufacture?

  yup, there's one PCI-e 16x and a PCI-e 1x

  i went back the shop and asked.. they say is the diff chipset used on the motherboard...

  Possible since it's a VIA chipset, maybe you want to try flashing to the latest BIOS?

  ask them to explain clearly? I dunno wtf that is supposed to mean, the salesperson there should do his job and answer all your doubts and tell u how to fix problem.

  8800GT should have a 6-pin independent socket to draw power from the PSU. Mine gave a loud cranking alarm and the LCD screen goes blank when i tested the card without this coonnection on purpose
  
  As for the VIA chipset update i am not very sure. Inever liked or owned a VIA based board. Its like throwing away XP for Vista at times like these.
  
  I read some where that the 8800GT needs a recommended spec of 20amps at the 12V rail but mine do fine with a psu rating of 16amps.
