Ha... I didn't do that too. For those using XP... you can try. But if run into problems, boot up to Safe Mode and change the settings back.Originally posted by Shotgun:I got 2GB ram. But running vista, dun dare to disable virtual memory!

I bought a 512 MB stick for $85 during Dec 06 leh, uncle. Now $17 only. Should I say it's a 80% discount, or I paid five-fold for the same thing a year ago.Originally posted by eagle:damn sian... I bought 2 x 1 gb ram for $66 each in september 07

Might as well just Switch User and leave com on 24-7. I leave mine switched on for a few days until it gets a little laggy and deserves a restart. Just switch off the monitor whenever you leave the desk to cut down on the bills.Originally posted by Darkness_hacker99:Your friend's is in Standby mode?
If you are on XP and not into video editing or 3D design, I won't say you should, but you can if you want to. After disabling it, if you find your system to be more responsive with no or little reduction in system stability, you can jolly well stick to the change.Originally posted by FBI:i ahve 2 gb ram, shld i disable virtual memory?
I don't think it's an hardware issue. Tried re-formating Windows already?Originally posted by eagle:my windows rather buggy now... cannot shut down properly... Start up also got problem...

cos 100% of memory stored in RAM( which runs in high clock speed of 1/667*10^3 seconds( for a 667mhz ram)... not partial in VM( where running in 7200rpm(1/754rad seconds) and Partial in ram....
