do ram decreases loading personal setting time?

currently had a 1gb ram, and its taking me around 1.2min to load..i've cleaned all my stuffs but its still taking me a long time to load, may i know if the loading will be decreased greatly if i add in another 2gb ram?

Try increasing the visual ram in your hdd ( is it visual ram, sry i m half awake) -

Well, I don't think it helps much. There's a limit to how fast things can load. After that... that's it.
You could help by defragmenting your hard disk and reducing the number of startup items and startup services. -

You may have many programs being ran at system startup. Goto Start > Run > msconfig > Startup tab and uncheck programs that you deem unnecessary. If you are unsure what a program does, Google its name or command.Originally posted by rpgragnarok:where do i find that? how to increase it?

Boot fast method :
Start>Run>msconfig
Under tab Startup, choose disable all.
Under tab Services, choose Hide All Microsoft Services, then choose disable all.
Restart and see if there's any change in startup speed. -
Right click My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Settings > Advanced > Virtual Memory section - Change > Select "Custom Size" and set it appropiately. To reduce data fragmentation, set the Min and Max to the same value. eh try unplugging any external device like Ext HDD.. cos these could he the reasons why they load longer.. due to error checksum and stuffs.

i've just bought a 2gb ram, $79
hmm..loading personal setings time is now 1min, 20sec less than before.. but still not up to my expectation.. i've already disabled all of services and startup like you said. but boot time is still the same, 1min. could it've been some kind of spyware? -
damn sian... I bought 2 x 1 gb ram for $66 each in september 07
now drop to $29 only
