Tempted to get it, but I don't want to be limited by the hardware requirements. Apple should know that technology moves too fast for that.

my Tiger disc was accidentally thrown away by my folks when they threw away the huge box my iMac came in.. i put the disc back in there -

My last PC build was sometime in September 2005. With the launch of Vista my next build was delayed.
All i want is a new windows OS that can do what XP can and maybe a little more. Choosing hardware used to be the fun thing about building a computer but with all the compatibility issues Vista makes me wonder will my hardware or software even work in this OS i have chosen.
Before support for XP runs out MS please release windows 7 even if its just a mimic of XP, as long as it supprts 64bit hardware operation. You have to take things one step at a thing. Please the hardware before adding on other unneccessary gimicks

Vista has been "free" for a while le. No thanks to the Chinese hackers and their Vistaloaders. Totally passes off as a genuine vista ultimate too!
Still, some articles still rate XP to be 50-100% faster than vista. Faster, but less stable. So its still a trade off. You want speed or stability?
I've switched to vista and I have to say I really appreciate some of the features, such as the search function. Don't understand how I could have found anything using XP previously (yes, watch some stupid dog scratch his balls). -

I want x64 to be installed and allow me do all i can do now tih x32. After all who cannot afford to pay for the hardware and drivers? The prob is we have the hardware but no proper drivers for all application. -

I had some driver issues as well. Caused by Intel and Microsoft. I hate them for that!
They refused to release WDDM drivers for 915 chipset. So I have no access to the Aero theme, or the movie maker.
One thing good though, AERO theme slows Vista down. If you wanna reduce your power consumption, and get ur rig to move faster, don't use AERO.
