PS. I read about packet sniffing, is it possible to get others info through wifi which is under the same LAN as me?
I thot what lan sia.Originally posted by ChairmanJay:can anyone tell me a program which can sniff packet from ppl using ur lan?
A new education program should start.Originally posted by Shotgun:To packet sniff ppl using your wireless router?
I'd tell you, but I'm not sure if you're using it to scam others or not.
I saw an SSID broadcasting Wireless@SG in my condo before. I suspect someone was trying to steal information by hopefully getting people to connect to their network.
Get NetStumbler and install it. It will find a lot of networks around. If you find some network with the same SSID as yours, different MAC address... it's not cracking your router's password... it's another attack... it's a rogue access point.Originally posted by ChairmanJay:i wouldn't do that.
i just wanna find out who is cracking the password of my router and accessing without my permission.
Yeah. But a lot of people leave set their wifi to auto-connect to Wireless@SG. I stumbled into it when I was connecting from home. Instead of connecting to my own wireless network, I saw that I was connected to wireless@sg.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:A new education program should start.
Wireless@SG need you to log in before you can use it.
Whoever connects to it without verification you can jolly well figure out how some of things are changed.
Yeah... haizz...Originally posted by Shotgun:Yeah. But a lot of people leave set their wifi to auto-connect to Wireless@SG. I stumbled into it when I was connecting from home. Instead of connecting to my own wireless network, I saw that I was connected to wireless@sg.
Nope, there wasn't any log in screen, cos I saw my MSN connect.
Besides, its also entirely possible to fake a wireless@sg log in page, and redirect victims to it to make them THINK they logged in. Serves to harvest wireless@sg accounts too if u ask me.
I always log in using fake account then see whether can enter or not then the real one... it pays to be careful...Originally posted by Shotgun:Yeah.
