viewing chinese characters

  i can view chinese characters on some websites but not on others....
  
  no idea why...
  
  is there a programme or something that i can download so that i can view chinese characters ??

  try Page -> Encoding -> More -> Chinese Simplifed (GB2312)

  It's not on your menu bar? If not it's under View bah (for older versions).
