microsoft office outlook 2007

anyone can teach me how to configure microsoft outlook?
for e.g. adding an email account. (currently using sch email and someone configured it for me)
for some reason, i can only read emails from it when i connect to my school vpn, otherwise it will say smth like trying to connect to microsoft exchange. -

yuh but when i add new email acc, it says access to hotmail via outlook now requires a subscription. please sign up at http://join.msn.com/general/Email

Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail needs to pay to use email clients to access... or just get those POP3 poppers...
