Something I saw:
For the contrast ratio, what does it means? The smaller(200:1) better or the larger (1000:1) better?

Then for the brightness, what does it means? Whats cd? whats m2? Then is it smaller(100cd/m2) better or (500cd/m2) better?

contrast ration in theory the higher the better. contrast ration is generally the difference between the darkest black and the purest white. the higher this value the more desirable it should be. a pc with true higher coontrast ratio avoids darker patches when u watch movies during dark night scenes or play games like doom or any other stealth games that lurks in the dark.
brightness cd/m2 also equals to nits. usually the higher the value indicates more poowerful backlit, which also means a little higher power consumption with the LCD. i think i saw LCD with 350 nits specification before, just google it and u will know.
If u are an existing LCD owner it helps if you note the specification and compare it with the specification on another newer lCD model u intedn to buy. since u are used to your existing LCD, getting a new unit with better rated specs over your exist one should put u on a safe side in purchase satisfaction.
still nothing match the vibrant color of an 8-bit panel. That is the reason why i still keep an old 15inch LCD with slow response time for watch TV.
