problem with video file

  hallo
  
  I just downloaded a documentary video from a p2p program called ares. The video is in wmv format. I can't open the file with any video player.. CCCP, windows media player, divx player, real player, quick time. ALL cannot..
  
  I tried converting the file to a different format... but i get an error saying that "could not open video stream from file"
  
  help me!!

  If WMP can't open WMV files, high chance it's corrupted. WMV is a format from the producers of Windows.
