Extract Audio from .avi file.

  I only want a portion of it only. Possible?
  
  I also want to extract a portion of the video also. Possible also?

  Use http://www.aoamedia.com/audioextractor.htm to extract audio from your avi file.
  
  Then use Windows movie maker (from your OS) to trim the audio or video file accordingly...
