  Yes, same application. Defense+ has been disabled... so now it seems that it's just the firewall.
  
  Setting is set to Train with Safe Mode
  
  I just randomly connect to one of those fake antispyware websites... and it works. Note down IP address, cleared cache, type in IP address of that rogue website... still in.
  
  Works with both proxy and without proxy...
  
  I'm not going to try the Microsoft /16 subnet...

  Just to confirm, the computer in question is frequently flooded with prompts from the firewall which has a blue border?

  Orange border
  
  I never tried ping
  
  Connect through a browser to the site.

  Orange ones are actually coming from Defense+.
  
  And try pinging and see if it bypasses the firewall.

  Short term memory due to my itchy hands.
  
  Don't tweak Windows too much. I revert back to default Windows settings and it's working OK.
  
  So does the blocking.
  
  Now me is going to find one that doesn't depend on Windows... because of my itchy hands.
