Lag Problems

Allright, I have this problem recently when I uninstalled MSN and reinstall it. The laptop suddenly lags and everything hangs; after a while, it goes back to normal; and then hangs again, lag and then normal again! I'm not sure if MSN is the cause but whenever it is running, the laptop lags like hell..I'm not sure how else to picture the lag other then a screenshot of what's taking up CPU.
I wasn't having anything else running other then Firefox and Windows Live Messnger v8.1

I dont think it's msn.
But to be sure can u uninstall msn and see if it still lags?
Guessed it's your vista interface that's causing the problem.
Try Switching off your Aero Interface And All Those Fancy Stuffs
And Switch To The old windows interface. ( wins 98 style)
You should not experience lags.
Have you Defrag your Laptop?
It does improve the performance abit when i experienced lags.
You might wann try the first application on this thread if u are lazy to switch off aero and those fancy stuffs manually

I tried with both Aero on and off; the lag and hang is still there. Thus I assume its the messenger problem; I did a defragment a few days ago too so yeap that angle is covered.
Searched the net for any availlable help (still searching)..and therefore am seeking help from brothers & sisters here..

Before that what's your messanger's version?
Version 7.5 or 8.0?
you cn try downloading v8.0 and see if it lags. -
Im not sure what was the previous version; but currently its v8.1

Your skin is really confusing. I can't tell if it's XP or Vista.
If it's XP, it may has got to do with the skin. When MSN Messenger loads, it causes a lot of resources to be used up.
If it's Vista, I will suggest upgrading to 8.5. 8.5 doesn't use so much resources on Vista as compared to 8.1. -

Allright, when i reinstalled MSN the other time, it was v8.5 and that's when the laggyness starts. So I changed to v8.1 and its still the same...sadness.. -
