Creative or Altec Lansing?

the higher end cambridge soundworks are not bad.
this company relatively unheard of since creative took over cambridge
the nowadays creative speakers are barely decent -

I wonder if got JBL Pro speakers for desktop. My dad Compaq laptop had built in JBL Pro and the sound is very clear and nice.

creative ar, depends which one u getting lo. those 20 plus watts one are very gd for one small room but nt gd for living room. -

yeah, the sateliites can be wall mounted. the treble is kind of sharp-ish thou, just use the computer's EQ to tune down the 16 & 14 KHz bands

dude, bose is not the best. there are much better systems that you can get out there with equal or less price than a bose system. they are all right if you watch alot of movies or u wanna attract attention FAST!!!! however, if you like to listen to music, you will be missing out a lot listening thru those speakers.Originally posted by hiphop2009:bose still the best la.

If you are playing music through your com, no point having a set of kick-ass speakers when you are using the onboard sound chip

sometimes its not the choice of the owner to listen thru onboard sound chip. if the PC is bought, not built, then he might void the warranty by replacing the onboard audio with an external chip.
and even if its an inbuilt chip, listening thru crapass speakers just doesent do justice to your music, game and movie collection. -

bose is gd for music but den for gaming wise, it is a no-no
a gd speaker system must go with a gd sound card. no point getting a normal or lousy sound card if u hav a 7.1 surround system. dey wont work u noe? -
Having a set of good speakers with lousy onboard sound is like putting the engine of Nissan Sunny into the chassis of Ferrari , it's not about doing justice to your collection of media, anyway most of our music in com are compressed(not perfect quality).
Those who want to know what is real music should try the Auzentech Prelude soundcard.I have tested it myself only with the T40 and up till now, i still can't find any soundcard that sounded as good as it. -

How about Edifier? Not bad leh. The sound quite clear. It is a Aussie brand. I guess.

edifier is canadian. they are not bad also, they make good speakers at good prices. their woofers however, are rather lackluster, if youre looking for glass cracking bass in those systems youll be disappointed, but for normal listening at normal levels, they do the job very well.

now, if you ever want to upgrade, you might wanna seriously consider the VS2321.. it costs $80 (a bit on the ex side).. but in that, distortion is totally not present.. and you can blast it.

That's true, Bose is waaaaay overpriced and nowhere near the best. for those who are interested, my VS4121 is huge on bass but mid is not good. i'm not sure if its my xmod but when i listen to vocals its not tat clear...

the downfiring midrange kinda squashed the mid tones.. thats why. i own a ATP3 system and since its the same design, i have the same problem.

i somehow prefer the sound of my brother's FX4021 as compared to my MX5021, there's more clarity in the FX4021's speakers. or isit my Treble/bass/EQ settings? can MX5021 users advise?
on a side note, i have the BXR1121 brand new sealed in box going for $50. PM me if interested.
