OMG Thumbdrive Error!

my thumbdrive suddenly cannot be read le. can detect but then when u double click it says "please insert a disk into drive F:" how? any software can help? or must go to those shops to recover data?

Plug it out and plug in to another PC. No spare PC, download Ubuntu, burn it to CD and boot up to it. See if you can open the thumbdrive in Ubuntu.
Please don't double click on the Install icon in Ubuntu. When done, shut down the PC and take out the CD. -

actually most importantly, if your thumbdrive has a light, is the led light still on? -

Problem with plug and play is that they need to unload safely, if not done properly, can damage a device... it may not be damaged though.
See if Linux is able to read it. If Linux can't even read it, you can seek professional advice. -

luckily today i itchy hand transfer those important files of my fyp on to my lappy... bu xing zhong de da xing

yup
the LED indicates functionality of the thumbdrive. I forgot why liao... but if it stops lighting... most likely your thumbdrive is spoilt.
However, the data is actually still inside, just that you cannot access it... -
