Prostreet CPU requirement

  Hi all,
  The requirement for NFS Prostreet is 2.8 GHz for the CPU. I wish to get a Pentium D dual-core with this clock speed and above to cut down on what I have to spend on a processor. If, however, I choose to use a Core 2 Duo without the clock speed, is it possible?

  Core 2 is like x2 of the specs they stated.
  Let's say my Core Duo has a spec of 1.7Ghz. Then in actual fact, since 2 cores are running, 1.7 x 2 = 3.4Ghz.

  It doesn't work like that
  
  To TS, just get one of those E4XXX series of processor, aka pentium successor if you are on budget, then ad 2GB worth of RAM and a decent GFX(7900 or 8800 series if you have the $$$).The game should run pretty smooth with details on high

  Yeah. I heard it's more like 40% or something.

  My current laptop specs are as follows:
  
  AMD Turion 64x2, 1.8GHz (each)
  2.0GB of RAM
  ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 HyperMemory
  
  I just downloaded the demo and well, even on lowest settings, the framerate is very slow; jerky movement and cars uncontrollable.. but then again, I do have a sucky graphics card...
  
  Looks like I'm heading to SITEX with a bulging wallet..

  Haha okay thanks everyone. Does SITEX always sell cheaper? Or your usual ah beng shop at Sim Lim Square?
  
  By the way, how do I check my mainboard for compatibility with processors?

  if the game cannot be run in parallel-processors, then it is difficult. To be safe better get Exx series CPUs.
