Disc Drive Problem

  I recently bought quake wars enemy territory and medevial total wars: Kingdoms.. weird thing is that my com couldnt detect those games in the drives..
  
  when i tried them using my friend's acer laptop, it detected it immediately..
  
  ok so i guess disc drive failure right... but it can detect Medevial Total War.. (not kingdoms.. its the one b4 kingdoms) and stuff like warcraft 3...
  
  Its a DVD-readable drive.. TDK to be exact..
  
  Reason why im asking is because im thinking whether i should be a new drive or is it the cpu's problem? format?

  disc drive i tink, change a drive and see, maybe the laser thingy spoil?

  How about double clicking on them?
  
  When there are lots of programs in a disc, the manufacturers always will choose one of them to run automatically. The rest will not run automatically no matter what.

  as in it cant even detect the disk.. i dont even see it's name on my computer..
  
  i dont think its the disk problem as it works perfectly on my laptop..
  
  on the other hand, i dont think its the drive's problem as i can read my other game. argh

  I can change np.. but i want to know if its the dvd drive fault.. cause i can still detect some of my DVDs.. its just these 2 which i cant.

  very few.. i can read them perfectly using my laptop.

  Sometimes older drives have problems reading some newer media. Try finding new firmware for the drive, failing that, get a new one. They are cheap as dirt nowadays.
