Installer problem

hi there, first post in this forum...
my computer has a problem with installation, cant install games and Live messenger, and i believe a lot of other shit.
some window pops up and tells me that there is an error code '1601' and that Windows Installer may not work properly if Windows is in safe mode, which is not the case
help please?

it's just that windows installer is really crappy now, always gt problem installing software.
i think you check out campy's thread regarding msn one and see if there's a solution there -
Looks like Windows Installer service is not running.
1. Start > Run and type in services.msc and press Enter.
2. Scroll down to Windows Installer. Double click on it.
3. Startup Type --> Change to Manual.
4. Click on Start.
5. Click OK to apply the settings.
Try to see if you can install. -
