Question on partisioning.<--wrong spelling.

  I have 2 drives. one is for backup files..
  
  recently i formatted the windows drive leaving the backup one..
  
  but after i entered the formatted windows, all the files in the backup one is corrupted.. like cannot find.. how come ar?
  
  how can i ensure that my backup files are guaranteed save in the backup drive?

  how U do ur backups?
  just copy into ur backup drive? or U use some backup software?
  
  if U use backup software..then should have some kind of "verify backup" function.

  no backup software.
  
  just copy paste. after that cannot open when formatted.

  That's strange. It should be fine. Did you format your 2nd partition by accident?
  
  Also, if you turned on disk encryption, you might not be able to read the partition after you format the main partition either unless you backed up the keys.

  What are the backup files? If they are programs, they need to be reinstalled. If they are just files or some documents, you should have no problems opening it.

  Im not sure what disk encryption is...
  
  but they're pictures and music and some impt documents.. was really pissed last time cause they were all in the folder, AND the disk was full (meaning that they are inside).. but i couldn't open them cause some error came out.. kinda forgotten what the error was..
  
  And if i can recall correctly, i THINK they asked me to format the drive too.
  
  So i dont wanna repeat this mistake agn cause i lost imp documents.

  What version of windows are you using?

  maybe the files were already corrupted before you copy it to your back up partition?
  
  i had no problem with mine.
