my current system specs. contemplating on changing to a lappie. so wanna know how much cash i need to top up.
so can u guys gimme a rough idea how much would u all pay for this ?

I can get a brand new AMD X2 4000+ system (excluding monitor) for about $500.
You can try to look at Yahoo auctions for recently transaction prices. visit hardwarezone forums. -

I dont understand why you will need to switch to a laptop. Seriously. Stick to your xp with 1.2gb ram. it runs much faster than the laptop. -

mine on athlon XP 2400, this whole comp of mine cost less then 600 i tink -
reason why i'm changing it is cos i wanted a portable work station tat doesnt take up much space so i'm looking at macbooks instead of windows based system.
dun really wanna sell part by part cos too troublesome le.

i'd pay 500+/- for it. all the parts are older generation of CPU except the disk drive. eg, motherboard, ram, graphic card(should be AGP type), processor.
processor= cheap can get..
graphic card= uncommon.. AGP.. expensive, if spoil, replace also problem
Ram.. DDR type.. 3x expensive than DDR2, this one also, spoil liao cost alot
mo board.
sound card is slightly lower than average kind( being its integrated)
printer port... quite old liao.. still using LTP1.(changing towards USB)
and also, still using serial port com...(USB liao. this port very rarely use) -
