Hmm...but I don't think Opera munchs that much amount of RAM even when dealing with graphics-intensive sites. Maybe for your case, Opera worked well. I don't think it will be wise to test out the Beta. Mozilla won't fix 80% of the bugs found before the release of beta.
I shall keep my fingers crossed for either RCs or later Betas lest my machine crashes. -

So far working, except that it's showing the wrong startup page. Don't know is it due to me running extra profiles. LOL
And the looks very classic. Like 1.5. Hehe
Don't really know what's that Star for... apparently, works like some bookmarking thingy.
One of the things which saved users headaches and I hate is plugins. 2 plugins are already installed by default.
1. Shockwave
2. Calendar
You will really like the privacy section... history set to 180 days.
Me wonders if their memory is that bad...
There's also a new plugin section to disable them if they are causing trouble...

Password remembering feature changed.
Rather than prompting, by default, passwords won't be saved. If you want to save the password, click on Remember at the top.
Good for the lazy and stop those irritating popups.
Adblock Plus don't seem to work well in FF3. Sigh.

Some new security features...
IE7 users, very familiar. But Firefox 3 makes it a tad complicated... almost scare me... LOL
Click on Add Exception will ask you to add a certificate...
Depending on your Firefox security settings... you may receive a prompt below...
Then finally into the site.
Slightly more tedious than IE7.
The Password Remembering feature is useless if a website prompts you to log in on accessing it... if it's a form, it works fine...
RP website will prompt you on accessing the site... will need the Firefox 2 way of saving password so the password will be saved...

i think it is the fastest leh....

IE7 is fast on Vista (faster than my FF), but freaking lag in XP. -

Unlike FF2 when it can't load a page and will use up lots of memory, FF3 no longer use up so much memory when it can't load a page.
2GB of RAM and FF2 - if a page can't load, FF2 will hang for a while, then start working again
2GB of RAM and FF3 - if a page can't load, FF3 is still responsive
