recovery problem

  mayi or any expert, pls help me.
  im using acer desktop.
  my pc has been laggy and sometimes hangs otherwise its fine.
  so i intend to do a recovery.
  i tried 3times but it always stopped at "harddisk fully recovered" screen.
  the CSO told me my harddisk got problem ask me bring down service centre.
  is there any other ways to do a recovery instead of bring it to service centre.

  wah lau, u dun understand.
  i dun wan to spend so much.
  its working fine now, just tat i think its time to recover it cos 2yrs++ old le..

  if you or your friends got ultimate boot disk that should fix the problem...

  ya it seems to me too. but it just stopped at tat screen and nothing happen for 30min, and i realised it has hanged.
  i tried 3times, always hang at tat screen.
  my fren asked me to reinstall without recovery. wad u think?

  Recovery will remove all programs.
  
  Can you restart your computer and see if any of your installed programs are missing?
  
  If they are there, then the discs got problem.
