Serious HELP NEEDED!!

  Hi this is real bad.. our project was send in .docm format.. i tink sumone accidently typed the m there.. is there anyway i can convert the wierd file back to word doc??
  
  Help appreciated.. i'm at my wits end..

  unhide files extension and rename the file (del the 'm')

  open windows explorer / tools / view / 'hide extension for know file types'

  actually u should be able to see the full filename and extension since it's not a recognised format right? then rename lor

  Is the file saved?
  
  If yes, follow thoreldan's instructions to show the extensions of the file and rename it to .DOC.
  
  If it's not, save the file then rename it. And yes, you will need IE or any other browsers for it.

  ok.. the thing now is..
  
  my fren saved the file.. and send through email... so now the onli source of the file.. is downloading the attachment..
  
  so i downloaded the attachment den cannot open lor.. so.. now i open w IE when it promts?

  i think .docm file is a Word 2007 XML Macro-Enabled Document
  so maybe it can be opened using MS Word 2007?

  Download and SAVE the attachment, don't choose the Open option.
  
  Then rename it as thoreldan's instructions.

  Hmm... 2007 docs that I've come across used .DOCX extension... but well... this has macro... scan thoroughly before opening or you will open a virus...

  install the program and double-click on your file
  it should open nicely
