For the proxy settings, see the Firefox sticky.
If you are not a gamer, Singnet is definitely fast. Even for a 512 (I used to be on that before it upgraded).Originally posted by waves:Is Singnet really better now?
I used to use Singnet but is damn frustrated because I find it too slow. Then I changed to StarHub and it's a lot faster. But that was like 2 years ago.
Nowadays StarHub is getting slower and slower.
Yes. It's one of the things I get it done first when my PC is set up. Otherwise, my connection will be unstable after a period of time.Originally posted by Phaze:Erm...
Are you always using Singnet's proxy servers? Singnet, like all other ISPs, implements transparent proxing. Only during the dial-up days did you need to manually configure the proxy setting.
Erm... sorry. What I meant was, you are always using Singnet's proxy servers because Singnet implements transparent proxying.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Yes. It's one of the things I get it done first when my PC is set up. Otherwise, my connection will be unstable after a period of time.
Oh... it depends on my needs...Originally posted by Phaze:Erm... sorry. What I meant was, you are always using Singnet's proxy servers because Singnet implements transparent proxying.
There should be no need to configure anything.
Unless what you are saying is that you are using a different proxy server from the transparent proxy and the load on your proxy is much lower.
