when i start up my com it says dctrl is not found. what does that means?
i use the easycleanup programme (mayi recommend) to clean up some files yesterday. then after that cannot boot up liao.
if gone case liao. u all know where i can send my comp to repiar? or at least to recover my things inside? -
What do you mean cannot boot up? It got stuck at the black screen?
If yer using WinXP and IT savvy, try this, (I can't remember exactly but I did this something like this before)
1. Insert yer WinXP OS CD
2. Boot up from CD
3. Choose 'Repair' , and 'C drive' when asked
4. It should bring you to DOS prompt
5. You will be asked to enter your administrator login
6. Next, type HELP and enter
7. Look for something like "Repair restart" (duh, cant recall already)
8. Boot up
Otherwise, you can just send to SimLim square for repair. I dealed with this shop before, Dignity , 4th floor.
U can recover yer data (unless u dropped ur HDD) by removing ur HDD, attach it to an external HDD casing with cables, and plug it to other computer. This works just as an ext.HDD already.

anyway the shop charge expensive anot? i think i accidentally delete some files require to boot up the xp de.

unplug ur harddisk and plug it into someone else PC.
if ur harddisk is still working, u should be able to recover ur data

Otherwise just bring it back to the lan shop where you bought it. -

Heh, that program doesn't delete system files...
And even if that is so... Windows protects system files... shouldn't be gone.
Can you slave this drive into another PC and check if it has a i386 folder. That will allow you to reinstall the system if you have no XP CD. -
