the home router has a ip address range maybe 1-120Originally posted by dumbdumb!:i don't think iprelease and iprenew changes ip la.
cuz my home lan the ip range, if i release my com's ip, and renew, it takes up the only available slot, which is my same ipaddress. lol

1. i've another computer, and i think it's the same IP, as it's the same router =/Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:1. Router assigns IP addresses by DHCP, and the one that is not taken up will be your IP address. Unless another PC uses that IP address, you will still use that IP address.
If that's your only PC at home, it explains why your IP address won't change.
Anyway, that is a private IP address, it doesn't matter if it changes or not. If it's a public one, disconnecting from the Net and connecting back will change your IP address.
2. What operating system are you using? Do you have administrator rights on this PC?
3. What did you to make Command Prompt give out this error?
hmm, not sure, what's the difference?Originally posted by thoreldan:TS: are u trying to change your external or internal IP address?
at command prompt type ipconfig /release allTry this:
then type ipconfig /renew all
