HD DVD: Blu discOriginally posted by Parka:I'll be getting from Amazon.com so it's definitely cheaper than Singapore.
I have to go Blu-ray. My fav studio Pixar is supporting Blu-Ray.

Other than the big hoohaas, cost is another factor. For the extra space to cost more is OK. But because it uses different technology to drive that extra space up, uses another technology to protect, uses yet another technology for other stuffs, all these add up. Plus here and there, I seriously don't see the benefits of owning a Blu-ray disc.
Even without costs, some other odd factors made me side with HD-DVD as well.
1. The company that patents Blu-ray actually sits in HD-DVD Promotion Group company. Irony? You think?
2. Apple, who supports Blu-ray, has one of its own division, DVD Studio Pro supporting HD-DVD.
And the last thing which turns me off is Java. Java is a MUST to run Blu-ray discs. Extremely extra. If I can't get something to run properly because I don't have XXX, the company can forget about me supporting it.
The hoohaa? I leave it to you guys to guess. PS3 ar... don't play games, don't know.Originally posted by Mitsubishi hater:yos..
what the hoohaa?
the PS3 issue?
BD=2
HD=2
Because they have no need for the games?Originally posted by the Bear:actually, i wonder how and why people buy HD-DVD or Blu-Ray DVD players for a crapload of money... when they can buy an Xbox 360 for the HD-DVD player and a PS3 for the Blu-Ray DVD player for much less than a dedicated player
