temp2.exe????

  hi guys. each time when i switch on my computer. it will shows a system error report telling me temp2.exe has faced some problems n therefore closing. what is temp2.exe?

  my school computers got this virus before..2 different labs
  
  i suspect it was a virus that some guy inserted with this thumbdrive
  
  anyway..as i was able to enter only one lab as i have the system admin rights
  
  AVG can clear the virus...go to safe mode to scan it

  It's a virus.
  
  Plug in your thumbdrive and hold down the Shift key to prevent it from auto running.
  
  Open Command Prompt (Start > Run and type in cmd).
  
  In Command Prompt, type in the following line by line, pressing Enter after each line:
  
  X: (replace X with the correct drive)
  dir /s /a:h > %systemroot%\look.txt
  start notepad %systemroot%\look.txt
  
  Look at the notepad results
  
  You may find some unknown files there. temp1.exe, temp2.exe, autorun.inf. Delete all unknown files this way
  
  del /q autorun.inf (this one must go)
  del /q file (any unknown file found)
  
  After you've deleted the files, type in exit and press Enter to exit.
  
  You will need to restore the functionality of your hard disks that may be damaged by the viruses.

  Restart your computer after running the tool.

  Woot. Thumby virus + Auto-run combo. I still remember the time when diskette viruses which worked its way through system startup were prevalent then.

  thx for your help. but e way u mention above is for thumbdrive or what? cuz e temp2.exe occurs when i boot up my computer, not when i insert my thumbdrive.

  Is for the thumbdrive. You did use a thumbdrive before you got into this situation?

  yeah i had used a thumbdrive b4 i got tis virus. but e problem is i dunno which thumbdrive izzit. can i use any thumbdrive to remove e virus? cuz i used a mp3 player it work, im nt sure whether got any side effects or not

  No, thumbdrive viruses infect all hard disk + thumbdrives.
  
  Don't know which one, try one by one.
