anybody knows? other than using those capture software... (like is it possible to save the webpage with the vid embedded)Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:BTW do you know if it is possible to keep the cache of the vid you download from u-tube instead of having to download the whole vid after you close the window and reopen?
First thing I want to do to Vista is to get back the naming conventions... of all things to change... they change the way things are being named and done... if it could be done, changing to and using Vista isn't a problem.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:at home ok lah... but at the office.... you need the switch to admin yo do admin work so the user need not log out (save work, reopen programs....waste time)
all in all, after using VISTA fro a while, die die I will not go back to earlier versions....
Did you set your IE to empty cache on exit? I do this for all browsers...Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:BTW do you know if it is possible to keep the cache of the vid you download from u-tube instead of having to download the whole vid after you close the window and reopen?
bad move? its insane move... u should've stayed with xp n wait for sp3...Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:I need a crash course! I think.
Just got Vista Business installed on my machine. I seriously think this is a bad move. Feel like I've stepped into some countries I've never visited before, don't know rules and laws, etc.
I stared at it for some time liao. I don't want any background, but the option doesn't seem to be anywhere... and the Indexing service like can't be disabled.
A thousand and one things I want to but can't do, or can't find.
Sigh... at least it's stable...
I am using firefox and I did not set empty cache (clear ptr data) on exit. But I will try and see if I nid to reload on restart.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Did you set your IE to empty cache on exit? I do this for all browsers...
If I can wait... doing FYP. I must have been crazy to choose that project...Originally posted by BrUtUs:bad move? its insane move... u should've stayed with xp n wait for sp3...

Anyway, SP3 has been delayed for so long... I doubt if it's ever going to come out.
I'm not sure if Vista does this... but I guess we could find out.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:I am using firefox and I did not set empty cache (clear ptr data) on exit. But I will try and see if I nid to reload on restart.
strange... is there a time limit or if you exit windows the cache is erased or is there a cached limit.... because
one old vid I bookmarked needs reloading but the most current one does not need reloading from u-tube servers....
You wait long long.Originally posted by MyPillowTalks:i itnk under display can seet.....cos me taecher using vista oweis ask me set up, so i somehow meddle abit
and if u intend to throw it away, please throw it toward me
Try searching the addons page of Mozilla.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:hahaha I restarted windows and the cache was still intact... is there anyway to selectively delete cache? (Firefox, VISTA)
Yup, you can set it.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:help! is there a cache limit in Firefox? How to specify cache amount?
how long?Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:You wait long long.
how did I miss that? I was at advance but I did not go to network... I set it to 5GB hahaha... any consequence besides eating up space?Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Yup, you can set it.
Tools > Options. Select Advanced at the top
Select Network tab. Under cache, change the number to something reasonable.
Too much cache might slow down surfing... did have some users who complained of that.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:how did I miss that? I was at advance but I did not go to network... I set it to 5GB hahaha... any consequence besides eating up space?

zzzzzzzzzz
hmmmmm.... i don't see why...Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Too much cache might slow down surfing... did have some users who complained of that.
Might be due to the way Windows reads files... read one by one will take a lot of time, so if you have too much cache set, it becomes a burden.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:hmmmmm.... i don't see why...
you mean looking for the file to read? that might be a problem generally if there are too many files to go through... but reading from ther cache is definitley faster than reading from the server over the internet... so I don't see how it can slow down surfing....Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Might be due to the way Windows reads files... read one by one will take a lot of time, so if you have too much cache set, it becomes a burden.
