Help my comp cannot recognise my dvd drive!!

  when i right click properties on the dvd drive, the type of drive the computer shows is a cd drive not a dvd drive.. .how?

  can read dvd...but cannot burn dvd...=/

  i put blank dvd in, but they only recognise it as a blank cd...

  It's normal. I found that out through Google when I first installed a DVD drive. During then, I was perplexed by Windows when they label it as a CD drive when I have just inserted a blank DVD.
  
  Assuming yours is a DVD+-RW drive, since Windows doesn't have a built-in DVD burning software, you'll need one like Nero installed in order to burn DVDs.
