  DDR is getting old... that's why it's expensive. It's not in demand like DDR2, which explains the price differences.

  If you don't use it for gaming or progamming, then it's OK. A P2 will do fine. I'm using it happily.

  You mean a computer with a 1.8gHz processor is just P2? My dad bought this 'empty' computer (without OS) off SimLim at around 700 bucks. This computer has got 1GB RAM, uses Gigabyte motherboard P965 Express Chipset and this Graphic card brand Sapphire graphics by ATI too. Is it like a rip off?

  No. PII processor speeds are slower than that. That one is a P4.

  There's a classic version of WMP that comes with Windows if you don't wish to download Media Player Classic. To run it, go to Start > Run and type in mplayer2.
